Siliguri police have arrested two brothers for allegedly raping a minor girl and forcing her into marriage. The two accused have been identified as Surajit Roy and his elder brother, Samrat Roy.
The arrests were made after a formal complaint was lodged at the Matigara Police Station. According to the police, the duo is allegedly involved in the sexual assault and forced marriage of the underage girl.
It has been reported that the accused are the sons of a Trinamool Congress (TMC) Panchayat member. The police are currently investigating the matter further to ensure a strict legal process is followed.
