The Siliguri Metropolitan Police have arrested a man for smuggling drugs in the city. The operation was carried out by the Special Operation Group (SOG) in coordination with the Siliguri Police Station.
The police identified the arrested person as 31-year-old Litu Das. He is a resident of the Bholamor area in Siliguri.
During the raid, officers recovered 286 grams of brown sugar from his possession. The police have taken the accused into custody for further questioning to find out where the drugs came from.
This arrest is part of the city police’s ongoing efforts to stop the drug trade and make Siliguri safer for its residents.
