The Sherpa Village Health Center in Kalimpong has received a brand new ambulance. This move is expected to make it much easier for villagers to reach hospitals quickly during medical emergencies.
The vehicle was provided through the Member of Parliament Local Area Development Scheme (MPLADS) by MP Raju Bista. The goal of this initiative is to strengthen the healthcare facilities available in rural areas of North Bengal.
During the official handover ceremony, officials highlighted how the new ambulance will save critical time for patients needing urgent care. Previously, transporting patients from the remote village to larger towns was a major challenge.
This addition to the health center’s resources ensures that the local community now has better access to life-saving transport, improving overall health services in the region.
Key takeaway: A new MP-funded ambulance will now provide faster emergency medical transport for residents of Sherpa Village, Kalimpong.
