Residents of Nim Pokhrebung in Kalimpong now have better access to emergency medical services. A new ambulance has been officially handed over to the Sherpa Village Health Center to help patients reach hospitals faster.
The vehicle was provided by Member of Parliament (MP) Raju Bista through the MPLADS (Member of Parliament Local Area Development Scheme). This scheme allows MPs to fund development projects that directly benefit local communities.
A special handover ceremony was organized in Nim Pokhrebung to mark the occasion. The event was attended by local leaders and community members, including Songden Lepcha, who welcomed the new facility.
This new ambulance is expected to be a lifesaver for the villagers, especially during medical emergencies where quick transport to a larger city hospital is critical.
