Woman found dead in Naxalbari rented house

Police found the rotting body of a woman hanging inside a rented house in Naxalbari. The incident took place in the Rathkhola More area, creating panic among local residents. The dead woman was identified as Hema Mandal, who lived in the area with her husband.

Couple Background and Police Action

The couple had married for love around two years ago and lived in a rented room. The husband, Biplav Chowdhury, was away for work for about a week. When he returned home, he found the body hanging and informed the local police station. Police recovered the body and sent it for post-mortem to the North Bengal Medical College and Hospital. Officers have detained the husband for questioning.

Family Allegations and Investigation

The family of the dead woman reached Naxalbari from Nepal after receiving the news. Her father filed a written complaint at the police station, accusing the son-in-law of involvement in the death. Police have started a formal investigation based on the complaint given by the family.
