On Monday, a female wild elephant accompanied by two calves approached a trailer truck on the road. The elephant inserted its trunk into the truck cabin. Local residents gathered at the scene and made noise to drive the animals away. The elephant and its calves eventually moved toward the nearby Letekujan tea garden. In a separate incident on the same stretch of road, a wild elephant previously attacked a different trailer truck, forcing the driver to abandon the vehicle to escape harm.
