Wife Arrested for Murder of Husband in Hooghly District
A 32-year-old man died in Hooghly after a dispute with his wife, leading to her arrest by local police based on a family complaint.
The incident took place in the Bainga Uttarpara area under the Batanal Gram Panchayat in Arambag. The victim was identified as 32-year-old Partha Malik. Police took his wife, Madhumita Malik, into custody following an official complaint filed by the victim family.

According to the family members, Partha and Madhumita had a long-running domestic dispute, and the wife allegedly used to beat her husband. The argument broke out again on Saturday morning over her visit to her maternal home.
Police Action and Investigation
The victim family alleged that Madhumita attacked Partha with a stone grinder during the argument, after which he fell into a nearby water body and died. Arambag police station officers reached the spot immediately, took the accused for questioning, and registered a murder case based on the family written complaint. Police have started a formal investigation to find the exact cause of death and understand the circumstances of the incident.
