West Indies opener Justin Greaves has been ruled out of the second ODI against India in Guwahati after getting a calf injury. According to the ICC website, he picked up this injury while batting in the first match in Thiruvananthapuram.
Greaves scored his
maiden century in the format by making 101 runs off 108 balls. During his innings, he struggled with his movement and needed medical help multiple times. Despite the pain, he continued to bat until Indian spinner Kuldeep Yadav dismissed him. He did not field during India innings.
The 31-year-old player is
also doubtful for the third ODI on October 3. His absence forces changes in the team combination and strategy. Sherfane Rutherford is likely to return to the playing XI. India won the first match by eight wickets after Virat Kohli scored an unbeaten 139 runs to pass 15,000 ODI runs.
