People in West Bengal will experience a mixed weather on Friday as the Alipore Meteorological Department has predicted light to moderate rain with thunder in several districts of the state. However, rain will not be the same in all areas, and some parts of South Bengal will continue to face strong sun and high humidity.
Kharagpur and West Medinipur have received almost no rain in the last two days, and bright sun came out on Friday morning causing humid heat for the residents. East Medinipur will also see a mixed weather with clouds and local rain, though the
distribution of rain in East and West Medinipur is expected to be uneven. Meanwhile, Kolkata, Howrah, Hooghly, North and South 24 Parganas, Nadia, East and West Burdwan, Bankura, Purulia, Jhargram, and Birbhumi may witness thunder showers at many places along with
gusty winds running at 30 to 40 kilometers per hour.
North Bengal districts including Darjeeling, Kalimpong, Jalpaiguri, Cooch Behar, and Alipurduar will receive light to moderate rain. The weather department noted that
rain activity will be relatively higher in the hill and foothill regions. Furthermore, rain activity is likely to increase again in South Bengal with heavy rain expected at some places on August 23, August 24, and August 25.
