West Bengal is experiencing widespread rainfall and cloudy skies across multiple districts. South Bengal is witnessing intermittent showers since Sunday morning in areas like Kharagpur, West Medinipur, and Bishnupur.
Kolkata, Howrah, and Hooghly have temperatures between 28 and 35 degrees Celsius with high humidity exceeding 80 percent.
Light to moderate rain with gusty winds is expected in these urban areas over the next few hours.
According to the Regional Meteorological Centre in Alipore,
light to moderate rain is very likely across all South Bengal districts with surface winds reaching 30 to 40 kilometers per hour.
Heavy rainfall between 7 to 11 centimeters is expected in isolated places over the two Medinipur districts, Jhargram, and South 24 Parganas.
North Bengal districts are also receiving light to moderate rain along with lightning and gusty winds of 30 to 40 kilometers per hour. A cyclonic circulation lies over the upper atmosphere near the West Bengal-Bangladesh coast in the north Bay of Bengal, which is likely to form a low-pressure area within the next 24 hours.
