Monsoon remains active across West Bengal with the regional meteorological centre in Alipore predicting light to moderate rainfall, thunderstorms, and cloudy skies in most districts on Monday. Heavy rainfall of seven to eleven centimeters is specifically warned at isolated places in Jhargram and Purulia districts.

South Bengal Weather And Wind Warning

South Bengal districts will experience rain along with lightning and gusty winds reaching forty to fifty kilometers per hour in East Medinipur and South 24 Parganas. Other districts in the region may see wind speeds of thirty to forty kilometers per hour accompanied by lightning. Kolkata and surrounding areas will stay cloudy with a few spells of rain, and temperatures are expected to hover around a maximum of thirty-three degrees and a minimum of twenty-seven degrees Celsius.

North Bengal Forecast And Fishermen Warning

North Bengal will also witness a change in weather with light to moderate showers and thunderstorms expected in Darjeeling, Kalimpong, Jalpaiguri, Alipurduar, Cooch Behar, North Dinajpur, South Dinajpur, and Malda. These areas can also experience gusty winds of thirty to forty kilometers per hour. A low-pressure area has formed over the northwest Bay of Bengal, causing increased rainfall activity. Fishermen have been strongly advised not to venture into the sea as wind speeds may reach up to sixty kilometers per hour along the north Bay of Bengal and coastal areas.
