West Bengal Speaker Visits Murliganj School in Siliguri

West Bengal Assembly Speaker Biman Banerjee visited Murliganj High School in Phansidewa, Siliguri, to attend a blood donation and free health check-up camp organized ahead of the 80th Independence Day. The event saw the inauguration of new classrooms and served as a platform for the Speaker to engage with students and local staff.

Speaker Praises School Initiatives

Upon his arrival, the Speaker was welcomed with traditional Dhamsa-Madal music. During the program, he observed the school's ongoing academic and social activities. The Speaker inaugurated new classrooms and encouraged the blood donors present at the camp. He noted that the performance and dedication shown by the government-run Murliganj High School are noteworthy and compare favorably to many private institutions in the region.

Focus on Student Development

Addressing the gathering, the Speaker emphasized the role of students in the future of the nation. He expressed his intention to invite 50 students and their teachers to the West Bengal Legislative Assembly to help them understand the legislative process and gain exposure to state-level governance. He stated that teachers play a vital role in providing better opportunities to students, helping them become responsible citizens.
