West Bengal minister Bhaskar Bhattacharya inspected about 15 acres of vacant government land near the Rishra police station area on Monday. The minister reached the Rishra police station on Monday morning and held a meeting with officials from various government departments including BLA. After the meeting, he checked the entire land area from the roof of the police station building and gave necessary directions to the concerned officials.
During the inspection, the minister directed to mark the area by putting
bamboo on the boundary of the land. He said that about 15 acres of government land has been lying vacant for a long time and the government will take this land into its protection within the
next two to three days.
According to the minister, after taking the land under government protection, a plan will be prepared for its
use in public interest. Possibilities of developing several important projects including a
medical college and stadium are being considered on this land. He stated that the priority of the government is to secure this land and use it for the
welfare of the general public while administrative work has started rapidly in this direction.
