West Bengal Government Organizes Job Fair in Kalyani

The West Bengal government recently hosted a job fair and a special recruitment camp for jute mill workers at Kalyani College. This event was organized by the state Labour Department to provide employment opportunities to local youth and support private sector hiring.
Details of the Recruitment Camp
Around 100 job seekers participated in the special recruitment camp specifically designed for jute mill workers. This session was conducted by the management of Hukumchand Jute Mill to fill vacancies within the jute industry.
Job Fair Participation
Approximately 500 candidates attended the job fair, where 14 private companies offered various roles. Participating firms included L&T, SIS Limited, Muthoot Microfin, and other organizations from sectors like finance, construction, manufacturing, and security services. Candidates were not charged any fees for participating in this recruitment drive.
Selection Process
A total of 600 candidates attended the combined events. Reports indicate that 350 candidates were selected in the initial round, and 200 candidates are expected to receive their offer letters after the completion of the final hiring process. The state government continues to support these initiatives through the Labour Department to strengthen employment services across the state.
