West Bengal Forest Staff to Get Salary Hike from October

The West Bengal government announced a salary increase for various forest department employees starting from October. This decision aims to support staff members who work to protect forests and wildlife across the state.
Salary Increase for Forest Staff
Range officers, beat officers, and forest guards will receive a monthly salary increase of five thousand rupees starting in October. This benefit applies to approximately 500 range officers, 500 beat officers, and 650 forest guards. Additionally, the monthly allowance for 1,500 forest assistants will increase from 10,000 rupees to 12,000 rupees.
New Plantation and Employment Schemes
During an event in Kolkata, the state government launched the Sabuj Swatantra plantation campaign. The initiative aims to plant 50 lakh saplings across the state, along with three crore mangrove saplings in the Sundarbans between October and December. Furthermore, the government announced a plan to plant 20 crore trees by 2027. Regarding employment, the G Ram Ji scheme will provide 125 days of work to job card holders, allowing them to earn 34,500 rupees annually.
