West Bengal School Education Minister Bratya Basu will visit Jalpaiguri District School today to investigate the alleged assault on the headmaster by students.
District education officials and administration officers reached the school ahead of the minister's visit to review preparations.
Inspectors examined the school hall and the headmaster room to arrange the upcoming meetings.
The minister will hold a meeting with principals and headmasters of around 20 higher secondary schools in the Jalpaiguri municipality area.
He will also hold a separate meeting with the school teachers to understand the causes behind the incident.
The district inspector of schools submitted an inspection report to the state education department following the incident.
The minister is expected to review this report during his visit to the school.
Teachers have submitted memorandums to the district magistrate and police superintendent demanding a fair and impartial investigation.
