The agency stated that the accused acted as a middleman to sell blood that was obtained unlawfully from the Panskura Blood Bank. Authorities are currently investigating whether any blood bank employees were involved in this illegal operation.

In recent times, officials have conducted raids on several private blood banks following allegations of unauthorized blood donation camps and the illegal transport of blood and plasma to other states at high prices. As of August 1, the health department has banned 11 blood banks from organizing blood donation camps until further notice.
