Visually Impaired Duo Seek Help Over Housing Scheme Issues

A visually impaired father and his son from South Dinajpur have approached the District Superintendent of Police to report obstacles in building their sanctioned house under the government housing scheme. The family resides in Boda village of Harirampur in Balurghat.
Allegations of Obstruction
Sabbarak Hussain and his son Soheb Akhtar state that their house construction has been stalled for six months. They allege that a local leader and a relative are preventing the work because a bribe of 50,000 rupees was not paid. The family claims that laborers arriving to work on the site are being chased away and harassed. The family is currently living in a dilapidated house with a damaged kitchen and toilet during the monsoon season.
Police Intervention
After failing to find a resolution at the local level, the father and son visited the office of the District Superintendent of Police on Thursday. They have requested urgent assistance to begin the construction of their home. The police administration has acknowledged the complaint and promised to investigate the matter.
