Universal Section Mill has launched new yard management and roll management systems to improve digital operations in West Burdwan.
Surajit Mishra, Director In-Charge of ISP, DSP, and ASP, inaugurated the two new digital systems.
Both systems were developed in-house by senior manager Ravi Shankar Pandey with the help of various teams.
The main goal of these systems is to strengthen operational monitoring, increase material traceability, and reduce manual work.
The USM yard management system will use web and mobile apps to digitally map and monitor the finished yard with 3D visualization and AI-based dispatch management.
The roll management system will digitally track the entire life cycle of rolls from inventory to end-of-life.
This tracking ensures better asset use, maintenance planning, and timely decision-making for the plant.
