Union Minister Sukanta Majumdar Arrives At Bagdogra

Union Minister of State for Education Sukanta Majumdar arrived at Bagdogra Airport from Kolkata on Sunday. He stopped at Bagdogra on his way to Sikkim to attend an administrative meeting. Speaking to journalists at the airport, Sukanta Majumdar talked about the injury on Mamata Banerjee foot and claimed that there was no bone fracture on that day. He stated that while there could be a sprain or injury, the claim of a broken foot was not correct.

Statements On MP Removals And University VC Post

The Union Minister also commented on the removal of Trinamool Congress MPs Dola Sen and Kirti Azad from the Lok Sabha standing committee. He said that the opposition camp divided into two parts after losing the election and that committee formations follow member counts and rules set by the Speaker and the central government. Addressing the long-standing vacancy of the Vice Chancellor post at North Bengal University, Majumdar called it an old problem discussed with the Education Minister. He blamed disputes between the Governor and the state government from the previous tenure for the situation and added that courts will be informed that the center and state have no dispute on this matter.
