Two Teens Drown While Bathing in Mahananda Barrage

Two teenagers drowned while bathing in the Mahananda river near the Phulbari Mahananda Barrage area on Sunday. Three friends entered the river to bathe despite warnings from local residents who saw them going into the water.

Search Operation by Police

Local people managed to rescue one of the teenagers from the water and handed him over to the police administration. The other two boys drowned in the deep water. Phulbari and Phansidewa police reached the spot after receiving the news and started a search operation to find the two missing teenagers. Their identities and the exact reason for their visit to the barrage are not yet clear.
