Two Injured In West Bengal Firecracker Factory Explosion

Two people are in critical condition after a firecracker factory explosion occurred in Champahati, South 24 Parganas district. The blast took place on Thursday in a room built on a plot of land located away from the main residential area. Both injured individuals have been admitted to a local hospital for emergency treatment.

Investigation into the Incident

Following the explosion, local residents held a protest alleging that fire brigade personnel arrived late at the scene. A large police force, including the Additional Superintendent of Police of Baruipur, reached the location to bring the situation under control. The Baruipur police are investigating the cause of the blast and verifying if the firecracker manufacturing unit was operating illegally.

Damage at the Scene

The explosion caused significant damage to the site, leaving the tin roof and structure of the room destroyed. Debris, including burnt bamboo poles and other materials, was scattered across the area. Smoke was seen rising from the site for some time after the incident, and nearby trees also sustained damage.
