Trisha Studios has announced its upcoming Punjabi feature film Sui - Maqboolpura Files, a powerful human story developed after nearly two years of research into real events.
Produced by Tilok Kothari and written and directed by Abhinav Thakur,
the film will feature actor Kiran Shergill in a leading role. At the heart of the movie are the stories of women and families whose experiences remained largely outside wider public discussion.
Research and Story Focus
Over the course of nearly two years,
the makers studied available documents, accounts and differing perspectives by interacting with administrative officials, journalists, lawyers and individuals closely familiar with the subject. The extensive research has been woven into an emotional and engaging cinematic narrative.
