Tripura Youth Congress filed an FIR against Delhi content creator Amir Shokeen for alleged racial harassment and derogatory remarks against a youth from Tripura. According to Youth Congress president Nil Kamal Saha, the creator mocked a young man by calling him Chinese and distorted the state name in a derogatory manner.
A team of Tripura Police arrived in Delhi to take custody of the YouTuber from Delhi Police after his arrest for using racial slurs. DCP North District Niharika Bhatt stated that police registered a case at Sadar Bazaar Police Station after seeing the video on social media.
The accused was apprehended following raids and technical surveillance conducted across Delhi by multiple police teams. The case was registered under Sections 192, 196, 352, and 353 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita for promoting enmity and intentional insult.
