Tripura Prepares For Urban Body Polls

Tripura State Election Commission held a high-level review meeting at the State Guest House in Agartala to discuss preparations for the upcoming urban local body elections. The current term of the 21 municipal bodies ends on December 9, making the election process necessary.

Meeting Details And Officials Involved

State Election Commissioner PK Chakraborty briefed the media after the administrative meeting. Senior officials attended the gathering, including Director General (In-Charge) GS Rao, the Inspector General of Police for Law and Order, District Magistrates, and Superintendents of Police.

Election Preparation And Voter Lists

Officials discussed the working methods and coordination of the election machinery to ensure peaceful polling. The urban development department has finalised the list of polling stations, while voter list revisions are currently underway with the final publication scheduled for October 15.
