The West Tripura district administration has intensified security and preparations ahead of the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council Village Committee elections scheduled for September 28.
West Tripura District Magistrate and Collector Vishal Kumar inspected the Strong Room at Mandwi to review security arrangements and compliance with election protocols.
Comprehensive security measures have been put in place, with the deployment of paramilitary personnel, the Tripura State Rifles, and state police to ensure peaceful polling. The administration has not received any major complaints regarding candidates who have filed their nominations.
Polling is scheduled for September 28, and the counting of votes will take place on October 5. The election covers 587 Village Committees across Tripura, with West Tripura having 212 polling stations.
Prohibitory restrictions remain in force from September 26 evening until September 29 morning to maintain peace and public order during the election period.
