Tripura Expands Trauma And Cardiac Care Facilities

Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha announced that the state government is prioritising the strengthening of healthcare infrastructure. District hospitals are being upgraded, while trauma and cardiac care facilities are being expanded across Tripura. The construction work on a new drug rehabilitation centre at Bishramganj is also progressing rapidly to improve public health services.

New Treatment Programme Launched

Chief Minister Saha made these remarks while inaugurating a new medical programme for severe Haemophilia A patients at the Nursing College in Agartala. IGM Hospital has been designated as the nodal hospital for implementing this special treatment programme in the state. He noted that making this advanced treatment available at district hospitals in the future will help patients across the state.

Better Medical Services In Districts

The state government is working to ensure that people can access quality medical services closer to their homes. Trauma care centres are now established in almost all district hospitals, and cardiac care centres have started functioning in several locations. Additionally, a new dental building and a dedicated mother-and-child hospital are currently under construction in Agartala.

Reduction In Patient Referrals

The Chief Minister highlighted a significant improvement in public health services, claiming that the number of patients referred outside Tripura for treatment has declined by approximately 80 percent compared to earlier years. Officials including Health Department Secretary Kiran Gitte and Health Department Director Dr. Debashree Debbarma were present at the event.
