Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha said that the results of the Delhi University Students Union elections speak the truth. The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad secured three of the four key posts in the recent student body elections. Speaking to reporters, Saha stated that the outcome showed the importance of the youth in the country. He also mentioned the words of the Prime Minister regarding the youth population and their potential.
Yash Dabas won the President post for the ABVP, defeating his opponent from the National Students Union of India. Riya Chhawdi secured the Secretary position and Lakshya Raj Singh won the Joint Secretary post for the ABVP. Independent candidate Deepanshu Shokeen won the Vice President post after the final vote tally from the counting rounds.
The student election campaign focused heavily on student issues like safety, accommodation, and campus infrastructure.
A total of 20 candidates contested the elections representing major student organisations including the ABVP, NSUI, and an alliance of AISA and SFI.
