Tripura Cabinet Approves Free Puja Rations and Teacher Posts

The Tripura Cabinet has announced free distribution of essential food items to nearly 9.92 lakh ration card holders ahead of the Durga Puja festival. State Minister Sushanta Chowdhury stated at a press conference that card holders will receive free sugar, flour, and semolina through Fair Price Shops during October and November, with an estimated government expenditure between Rs 9.35 crore and Rs 9.85 crore.

New Teacher and Municipal Jobs Approved

The Cabinet has approved the creation and filling of hundreds of teacher posts, including 700 Graduate Teacher posts for Classes IX and X, along with 361 teacher posts under the Elementary Education Department. Additionally, the government approved the recruitment of 213 personnel across various categories under the Agartala Municipal Corporation and eight Lower Division Clerk posts for the Department of Science and Technology.

Welfare Enhancements and New Commission

In other decisions, the Cabinet approved an increase in the sitting allowance for the sub-committee chairman and members under the Scheduled Caste Welfare Department from Rs 100 to Rs 200. The daily allowance for students in Minority Welfare Department boarding facilities was also raised from Rs 65 to Rs 100 per day. Furthermore, the state approved the establishment of the Tripura Staff Selection Commission to conduct recruitment examinations for Group-B, Group-C, and Group-D posts.
