Tripura sets up 1110 Arogya Mandirs for better healthcare
Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha announced that the state government has established 1,110 Arogya Mandirs across the state to provide essential medical services quickly to the people. The Chief Minister shared this information while inaugurating a new polyclinic in Arundhatinagar and five Urban Arogya Mandirs virtually.
Healthcare Infrastructure Growth
The Chief Minister stated that improved medical infrastructure is being developed in various district and referral hospitals. He mentioned that the 12-room urban polyclinic in AD Nagar was built at a cost of Rs 2.10 crore. He also inaugurated Urban Arogya Mandirs at Radhanagar, Jagaharimura, Ujan Abhaynagar, Dhaleshwar, and Ramakrishna Shivalaya Ashram.
Reduction in Patient Referrals
According to the Chief Minister, the number of patients referred to other states has decreased. In 2023, there were 555 referral patients, while in 2024, the number has dropped to 161 so far. The state government aims to ensure that residents do not need to travel outside the state for better treatment.
Remote Area Services and Technology
Chief Minister Manik Saha highlighted that satellite health centres in hilly areas and the efforts of doctors, health workers, and ASHA workers in rural hospitals have been crucial. He also noted that the telemedicine system and the e-Sanjivani system are providing effective treatment. To further enhance this, a state-of-the-art studio will be built at GBP Hospital. Additionally, an Integrated Health Medical System (IHMS) has been developed for better medical management and the state is working toward becoming a tourism health hub.
