Tripura Announces Land For New Cricket Academy

Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha announced that the state government will provide more than 30 acres of land to set up a new cricket academy in the state. The proposed facility will support players from Tripura as well as other parts of the country. Chief Minister Saha made this announcement on Sunday on the sidelines of the Tripura Cricket Association Annual Awards Ceremony 2026 in Agartala. He highlighted the need to improve cricket infrastructure, coaching, and support facilities to nurture young talent.

Land Allotted At Sekerkote

Around 30 acres of land have already been allotted at Sekerkote for the state-of-the-art cricket academy. Chief Minister Saha shared these details through a post on X, stating that the government is committed to providing greater opportunities to the younger generation through sports. He also mentioned that the construction of the international cricket stadium at Narsingarh is nearing completion.

TCA Annual Awards Ceremony

CM Saha attended the Tripura Cricket Association Annual Awards Ceremony 2026 as the chief guest at Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhawan in Agartala. Tripura Sports Minister Tinku Roy attended the programme as the special guest. The event recognised cricketers and other contributors who made notable contributions to the state sports activities during the year. The gathering brought together representatives of clubs, associations, former and current players, and cricket enthusiasts to celebrate local achievements.
