Three lab technicians from Panskura SSH were arrested by the anti-corruption bureau on Tuesday in connection with an illegal blood selling case.
A broker was arrested earlier for allegedly selling blood illegally to patients and their family members.
During the investigation, police found a connection between the broker and the three lab technicians.
The investigation revealed that the broker transferred around 1.40 lakh rupees to the three lab technicians through UPI in a short time.
Brokers used to buy donor cards from blood donation camps organized by various clubs for 100 to 150 rupees each.
They used these cards to get free blood from the blood bank and then sold it to patients, sharing the money with the lab technicians.
The anti-corruption bureau is continuing its investigation into the ties between hospital staff and brokers.
