Thieves Steal 90 Thousand From Siliguri Pharmacy

Thieves broke into a pharmacy located on Menaka Saha Sarani in Siliguri and stole approximately 90,000 rupees in cash. The incident took place late at night, and the entire event was captured by the security cameras installed inside the shop.

Details of the Pharmacy Theft

On Wednesday morning, employees arrived at the shop to find the shutter damaged. Upon entering, they discovered that the cash box locks had been broken and the money was missing. The shop owner, Ajay Kumar Yadav, was immediately informed and he reported the incident to the Pradhan Nagar police station. The police arrived at the scene to collect evidence and begin their investigation.

CCTV Footage Reveals Theft Method

According to the CCTV footage, the incident occurred around 1:00 AM. A group of individuals arrived at the shop, broke the central lock of the shutter, and entered the premises. One person entered the shop and managed to break the locks on two cash boxes within five minutes before fleeing the scene with the cash. The police have taken the footage into their possession to identify the suspects involved in the crime.

History of Thefts in the Area

Following the incident, local business owners have expressed concerns regarding the current security arrangements in the area. The pharmacy owner, Ajay Kumar Yadav, stated that this is not the first time his shop has been targeted. He reported that a previous theft at the same location resulted in the loss of approximately 10 lakh rupees two years ago. The Pradhan Nagar police are currently continuing their search for the suspects involved in this latest burglary.
