West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari will visit Darjeeling on October 7 at the invitation of Gorkha Janmukti Morcha supremo Bimal Gurung. He will attend the party foundation day event in Darjeeling. Bimal Gurung and Roshan Giri handed over the formal invitation to the Chief Minister during a meeting in Jalpaiguri. Bimal Gurung stated that the Chief Minister had already agreed to attend the event.
The Chief Minister told reporters at Madarihat that the Gorkha Janmukti Morcha is his political ally.
Union Minister Bhupendra Yadav is also said to accompany him to the event. The Gorkha Janmukti Morcha was founded on October 7, 2007, under the leadership of Bimal Gurung. This year, the party is planning to hold its foundation day at the St Joseph School ground in Darjeeling.
Regarding hill development, the Chief Minister stated that the previous government gave six crore rupees for hill development.
His government has provided 313 crore rupees in five months. He also mentioned that he will visit Kalimpong on October 7. The Chief Minister is likely to attend multiple programs in Darjeeling and Kalimpong on the same day.
