Suvendu Adhikari made a strong statement regarding Jadavpur University during a public program in Kolkata. He stated that nationalism will be established both inside and outside the university campus.
The leader questioned the restrictions on singing Vande Mataram and hoisting the national flag at Jadavpur University.
He emphasized that the state government will not allow any compromise on patriotism, nationalism, and national interests.
He added that anyone living in the state must sing Vande Mataram.
Addressing controversial slogans, the leader warned that strict action will be taken against those raising anti-national slogans like Kashmir Maange Azadi.
He asserted that his government will not step back from its stand on national security and cultural heritage.
The tension at the university recently increased following a clash between two student groups on Wednesday night, which resulted in several students getting injured.
