A young man named Dipu Roy died in a bike accident in the Phulbari area near Siliguri. The incident took place late Wednesday night when he was returning home after dropping an acquaintance on Sevoke Road.
According to the family,
a meeting for Viswakarma Puja was held at the Phulbari parking area on Wednesday night. After the meeting ended, an acquaintance asked Dipu to drop him on Sevoke Road.
Dipu went to drop him on his motorcycle and the accident happened near the Tinbatti area while he was returning.
Family members stated that
they received news of the accident between 2:30 AM and 3:00 AM. By that time,
police had already taken injured Dipu to the hospital from the spot, where he died during treatment. The exact cause of the accident is not yet clear.
Police have started an investigation into the matter.
