Siliguri Police Seize Vehicles Over Illegal Parking

Siliguri Traffic Police have started strict action against drivers parking vehicles illegally on main roads and lanes after the new parking facility became operational at Kanchenjunga Stadium. The administration took this step following repeated complaints about vehicles blocking traffic despite public awareness drives.
Strict Enforcement in Siliguri
On Tuesday, police teams conducted a drive to clear unauthorized vehicles from city streets. The enforcement took place in areas including Khudiram Pally and Bidhan Road. Traffic police used recovery vans to remove multiple vehicles that were found parked on the roadside in violation of the new city traffic rules.
New Parking Rules and Penalties
The local administration had previously announced that once the parking system at the Kanchenjunga Stadium fairground began, parking on city roads or along the roadside would not be permitted. Despite these clear instructions, many vehicles were still found parked in restricted areas. Following the removal of these vehicles, the authorities have confirmed that fines are being imposed on the vehicle owners as per the existing traffic regulations. This action is part of an ongoing effort to manage city traffic flow effectively as reported by Hindusthan Samachar.
