Siliguri to Host Startup Connect Event for Entrepreneurs

Siliguri is set to host the Startup Connect screening and mentoring program on August 8 to support entrepreneurs from the Darjeeling region. The event will take place at a hotel located at Darjeeling More in Siliguri starting at 10 AM. This initiative aims to highlight new business ideas and opportunities within the Himalayan region.

Details of the Mentoring Program

The program is being organized in collaboration with Sawan Hub, SA-IARD, and the Rise Foundation of IISER Kolkata. Participants will include startup founders, investors, industry experts, representatives from educational institutions, and young entrepreneurs. Organizers stated that the event seeks to address challenges such as the lack of investment, mentorship, market access, and networking opportunities for local startups.

Upcoming Startup Presentation Event

Following the initial screening, a larger event is scheduled to take place in Siliguri on August 29. During this session, 10 selected startups will be given the opportunity to present their business plans. State Industry Minister Ros Rai is expected to attend this event as the chief guest.
