Around 2600 tea workers in Naxalbari received their 20 percent bonus in their bank accounts before Mahalaya. The payment was made ahead of the Chief Minister's five October deadline, bringing joy to the workers.
Unlike previous years when bonus dates and payment in installments caused trouble between management and workers,
this year saw no disputes at the Pahargumia tea garden in the Terai region.
Workers have already started their festive shopping after receiving the full amount.
Garden manager Chandan Kumar stated that
workers are like family members and the bonus is their rightful due.
The payment follows the Chief Minister's announcement to ensure timely benefits for workers in the Terai region.
