Shishu Shiksha Kendra (SSK) and Madhyamik Shiksha Kendra (MSK) teachers held a protest outside the Siliguri Mahakuma Parishad office on Thursday. The teachers are demanding their pending salaries which have not been paid for a long time.
A large number of angry teachers gathered in front of the Mahakuma Parishad office to stage a sit-in and demonstration.
The protesting teachers claim that their salary has been stopped since the month of July. They stated that the matter was informed to the Mahakuma Parishad earlier as well. At that time, authorities had promised to solve the issue within one week, but no action has been taken yet.
The teachers also alleged that when they went to discuss the problem on Thursday, the concerned official behaved badly and disrespected them.
Angered by this behavior, the teachers protested outside the Mahakuma Parishad office for a long time.
The protesting teachers are demanding the immediate payment of their pending salaries and a quick solution to their problem.
