Siliguri Police Seize Illegal Liquor and Arrest One Man

Siliguri police conducted a successful operation on August 4, 2026, leading to the seizure of a large quantity of illegal liquor and the arrest of one individual at a local lodge near Siliguri Junction. The operation was carried out by officers from the Pradhan Nagar Police Station following specific intelligence reports regarding the movement of prohibited goods.

Details of the Police Raid

Acting on reliable information, plainclothes police officers arrived at the Maa Durga Lodge located near Siliguri Junction to conduct a search. During the raid on a rented room, the officers apprehended 23-year-old Bhaskar Kumar, who is a resident of Panchawati Chowk in the Saharsa district of Bihar. The police successfully detained the suspect on the spot during the search operation.

Recovery of Illegal Liquor

Upon searching the room, the officers discovered two trolley bags belonging to the arrested individual. Inside these bags, the authorities found 196 paper pouches of Officer's Choice Elite Whisky. The police seized the entire consignment of liquor as evidence during the raid. The suspect remains in custody as the investigation into the illegal transport of alcohol from the city toward Bihar continues.
