To prevent cybercrime, the police are warning residents to be very careful with their digital activity. Citizens should avoid clicking on links that they do not recognize and must never share their One-Time Passwords (OTPs) with anyone. The campaign specifically highlights the dangers of fake courier alerts, instant-loan scams, and threats related to digital arrests. People are urged to always verify information before they provide any personal or financial details online.

Preventing Financial Fraud

Financial security is a major focus of this new safety drive. The police advise everyone to double-check all bank details, QR codes, and investment offers before sending any money. Residents should be especially cautious of any schemes that promise returns that seem too good to be true, as these are often signs of fraudulent activity. Taking a moment to verify these details can help prevent the loss of money.

Improving Road Safety

This campaign also addresses the importance of following traffic rules to reduce road accidents in Siliguri. Drivers are being asked to stop over-speeding, drunk driving, and jumping traffic signals.
