Siliguri Panchayat Minister Orders Special Audit on GTA

West Bengal Panchayat and Rural Development Minister Dilip Ghosh chaired an administrative review meeting at Uttar Kannya in Siliguri to review rural development in hill, terai, and dooars regions. The minister announced a special audit of the Gorkhaland Territorial Administration and hill panchayats to stop corruption. He stated that the government follows a zero tolerance policy against corruption in administrative work.

Special Audit in Hill Panchayats

At least 10 percent of panchayats in GTA areas will face a special audit due to serious corruption complaints. The minister noted that work is ongoing to fix infrastructure gaps with the coordination of the new GTA chief and administrative officials.

Filling Government Job Vacancies

The state rural development department is taking steps to quickly fill about 11,000 vacant posts to ensure smooth public services. The minister also talked about the upcoming assembly by-elections in the state and claimed that BJP candidates will win both seats with huge margins.
