Siliguri police found an illegal Aadhaar card center in the Matigara area. Three people were arrested during the raid, including two Bangladeshi citizens.
Sukna Army Intelligence and Matigara Police conducted a joint raid based on secret information. The illegal center was operating inside a private house in the
Shishabari area.
The police arrested
Sushil Roy, Litu Mahanto, and Pabitrani Roy. The main operator, Ripan Roy, managed to escape before the police arrived. Officers recovered
over 28 suspicious Aadhaar cards and important documents from the spot.
The two Bangladeshi citizens lived in a rented house in Shishabari for about two years. They allegedly paid
10,000 rupees each to get Indian identity cards.
Matigara police station has started a proper investigation into the matter.
