Family members created a huge uproar at a private neuro hospital in Siliguri after an elderly patient died during treatment. The family alleged medical negligence by the hospital authorities.
Gouranga Barman was injured two days ago in a road accident on Gosaipur Road. He was first admitted to the Bagdogra Rural Hospital. Later, his family shifted him to the private neuro hospital in Siliguri on Friday for better treatment. The family stated that the patient was healthy until Friday.
The family alleged that the patient was put on a ventilator without informing them. On Saturday, the hospital informed the family about the death of the patient.
Tension rose at the hospital immediately after the family received the death news.
Pradhan Nagar police station officers rushed to the spot after receiving information and brought the situation under control. The family has registered a formal complaint at the Pradhan Nagar police station and
demanded a fair investigation into the matter.
