Siliguri Ghogomali Club Starts Durga Puja Preparations

The Ghogomali Janshree Club in Siliguri has officially started preparations for this year’s Durga Puja by performing the traditional Khunti Puja at the Ghogomali school grounds. This marks the 57th year of the organization hosting the festival, which is one of the oldest and most prominent celebrations in the city. The Khunti Puja ceremony serves as the formal beginning of the construction work for the upcoming festivities.

Karnataka Temple Theme for Puja Pandal

Organizers announced that the theme for this year’s pandal will be based on the architecture of a famous temple located in Karnataka. Visitors to the Ghogomali area will be able to see the design and artistic style inspired by South Indian traditions. This theme aims to provide a unique cultural experience for all the people who visit the pandal during the Durga Puja days.

Continuing a Tradition of Unique Themes

The organizers have maintained a tradition of creating attractive and thematic pandals to draw crowds every year. Last year, the club gained significant attention for its pandal, which was modeled after the Jagannath Temple in Puri. Following this successful trend, the committee is working to ensure that this year’s pandal offers something new and distinct for the public. According to reports from Hindusthan Samachar, the planning process is now underway to bring the Karnataka temple design to life in Siliguri.
