Siliguri Ganesh Puja Pandal to Feature South Indian Temple

The Siliguri Ganesh Puja Welfare Society has officially started preparations for its 20th annual Ganesh Puja celebration. The event organizers performed the Khuti Puja ceremony on Thursday at the old Duars Bus Stand premises, located near the Bidhan Market auto stand, to mark the beginning of the construction work.

Inspired by South Indian Architecture

Organizers revealed that this year the pandal will be built based on the architectural design of the famous Lakshmi-Narayan Temple from South India. The structure will feature detailed golden carvings and special decorations to replicate the look of the traditional temple. This design is intended to draw a large number of devotees and visitors to the site during the festival.

Seven Days of Religious Programs

This Ganesh Puja is expected to be a major highlight in Siliguri and across North Bengal. The religious festival will span approximately seven days, featuring daily religious programs for the public. The committee members and local business owners gathered at the launch ceremony to confirm that preparations are moving forward as planned.

Beyond the religious celebrations, the committee has organized several social outreach activities for this year. Planned events include blood donation camps, eye check-up clinics, and financial support for underprivileged students.
