West Bengal government gives one lakh rupees financial help to Durga puja committees in Siliguri.
State tourism minister Shankar Ghosh handed over checks of one lakh rupees each to representatives of various Durga puja committees under the Siliguri police station area on Monday. Senior police officers and social workers were also present at this event.
Minister Shankar Ghosh wished everyone a happy Durga puja and appealed to them to cooperate with the administration during the festival days to maintain a peaceful and safe environment in the city. The police administration also appealed to the people to follow guidelines and celebrate the festival with awareness.
