Siliguri Administration Seals Bar Kitchen On Sevoke Road

The district administration sealed a bar kitchen on Sevoke Road in Siliguri after finding expired food items during a sudden inspection.

Surprise Inspection on Sevoke Road

Officials conducted a joint surprise inspection at various malls, hotels, and restaurants on Sevoke Road to check food quality and cleanliness. The team included the Jalpaiguri Sadar Sub-Divisional Officer, the Food Safety Department, the Enforcement Branch, and Bhaktinagar Police Station officers.

Kitchen Sealed for Expired Items

During the checks at a prominent bar, officers found spices and other food ingredients stored after their expiry date. The inspection team also expressed displeasure over the cleanliness and maintenance inside the kitchen. The Jalpaiguri Sadar SDO immediately ordered the temporary sealing of the bar kitchen.

Warning to Other Establishments

Authorities found similar minor cleanliness and labeling issues at several other eateries on Sevoke Road. All establishments received strict warnings to follow food safety rules. The administration stated that no compromise on public health and food safety will be tolerated.
