Sikkim woman found dead in Siliguri rented room
A woman from Sikkim was found dead in a closed room of a rented house in Baghajatin Colony, Ward Number 2, under the Siliguri Municipal Corporation area.
Police Action
The deceased has been identified as Tsering Doma Bhutia. According to the police, she lived in a rented house in Baghajatin Colony. On Thursday late night, police from the Pradhan Nagar police station arrived at the scene after receiving reports that the door to her room had remained closed for a long time.
After receiving no response from inside, police broke open the door and found the woman hanging from the ceiling. She was immediately taken to the Siliguri District Hospital, where doctors declared her dead.
Investigation
Following the necessary legal procedures, the body was sent to North Bengal Medical College and Hospital for a post-mortem examination on Friday. Family members arrived at the hospital after being informed. The police have started an investigation into all aspects of the cause of death.
